Food and Drink

Cookery Demo - A Taste of Japan - Tokyo Kitchen is an authentic Japanese outdoor catering company. We have Japanese chefs who have over 15 years of combined cooking experience who have been trained in the art of Japanese cuisine. Our chefs, known as The Noodle Ninjas, are dressed as Japanese ninjas and certainly stand out from the crown. We make a whole performance of the cooking as we aim to make the preparation of food as interesting and exciting as the food is tasty for our customers. Think Tom Cruise in Cocktail; think Bruce Lee; think Gordon Ramsey without the swearing! Be prepared to see eggs juggled, soy sauce bottles spinning and magic tricks and illusions thrown in as our team put on a memorable display with a final product of noodles which have won praise wherever we have been.

Cookery Demo - Delicious Vegeterian Cookery - by The Waiting Room Restaurant
The Waiting Room serves really tasty, deeply satisfying food made out of full, wholesome ingredients... We change our menu with the seasons creating and developing our dishes with respect for what is naturally good for the time of year. We use much local and organic produce, including excellent organic wines, beers, teas and freshly ground coffee. A proportion of the vegetables we use are organic, and delivered on the day they are picked, from Larchfield Community Farm. We also use free range eggs, and organic bread and milk. The Waiting Room was declared the “Best in the North East” in the Observer Food Awards 2007, and was cited for serving “Excellent Food” as well as for hosting the highly acclaimed live music and arts events programme “Waiting for Sunday”. Also included in The Observer Food Awards for 2008

Entertaining Demonstrations

Rob Roy Collins is one of Europe’s top street performers. His show has taken him around the world, performing in over 50 cities and 10 countries. His show is a stunt comedy escapology act which is perfect for audiences of all ages and his crowd participation engages everyone. The show starts with balancing a sword on his chin whilst he lies down and stands up again, then performing handstands on chairs balanced on top of each other without falling before eating fire to the cheers of all watching. The audience do not have time to catch their breath before Rob is being tied up in handcuffs, padlocks and 20m of steel chain, all the while managing to fit in wise cracks and one-liners as comedy is an integral part of this memorable show. Finally, Rob climbs to the top of a free standing 12” ladder and attempts to escape from the chains and handcuffs in less than 2 minutes.
